The best waterproof winter gloves

Looking for some warm winter gloves that can withstand some serious wetness? Check out these neoprene Glacier Gloves. Not only are they 100% waterproof, but they are also durable, decently warm, and offer great dexterity.

I began my search for cold weather photography gloves about 18 months ago. I was looking for something that could keep my fingers from freezing while I fiddled with camera settings in the middle of a frigid midwestern night. My general criteria was as follows:

Gloves must be:

  • Warm (obviously)
  • Be able to press camera buttons
  • Waterproof
  • Durable
  • Good Grip
  • Flexible

In an attempt to find the perfect glove, I have since purchased more gloves than I would like to admit. I think I have found a solid option here though, so hear me out. These glacier gloves are seriously incredible.

They are slim and flexible enough to open a zipper pocket on my jacket and get my keys out. They can press the tiny buttons on my Canon DSLR. They feel like scuba suit material with a soft inner lining of micro-fleece. They actually "fit like a glove", with no weird flappy finger tips or extra fabric. They are pretty damn warm for a glove that fits like a second skin. For straight cold weather warmth, I wouldn't recommend these over a good pair of ski mittens, but these Glacier Gloves are seriously warm. I've worn them kayaking in frigid water, and the neoprene is perfectly grippy while keeping all water out. Speaking of water, you can dip your hand right into the lake and remain dry. They are so waterproof that they can actually cause a bit of moisture buildup on the inside from your hand sweat. This is honestly the only downside I have experienced with these gloves. It's really not a big issue though, and at the end of the day you can turn then inside out and they dry quickly. I've worn them skiing, hiking, taking photos, fishing and biking, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Well, maybe if they had the touchscreen ability for my phone, that would be a bonus. Oh, and these gloves are also ultralight! Seriously, if you're looking for some waterproof adventure gloves, give these a chance, you won't regret it. To top it all off, you can pick them up for only $25 on Amazon.
